How to fish for river chub

River chub are a stout, big-headed stream minnow of clean, moderate-sized rivers with gravel and rock bottoms, where breeding males build large stone-mound nests. They aren't a rod target - they're a forage fish, prey for smallmouth bass and other stream predators, and occasionally used as bait.
