How to fish for hornyhead chub

Hornyhead chub are a robust stream minnow of clean, gravel-bottomed creeks and small rivers, where breeding males build conspicuous gravel-mound nests that many other minnows spawn over. They aren't an angling target, though they're large enough to take a small bait occasionally and are sometimes used as bait themselves. Because they need clean, well-oxygenated flowing water, their presence indicates a healthy stream.
