How to fish for brook trout

Brook trout are the most cold-sensitive and current-loving of the trout species commonly targeted here, typically found in smaller, colder streams, spring-fed lakes, and the deeper, cooler parts of larger lakes once summer arrives - real habitat specificity that's central to their thermal preference profile in this app. Small spinners, natural bait like worms or minnows, and traditional wet-fly patterns all work well; brookies are generally considered less leader-shy and more willing to strike than rainbow or brown trout, which makes them a genuinely good species for less experienced anglers to build confidence on.
